GAO Releases Two Pipeline Safety Reports

Recently, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released two Pipeline Safety related reports, titled Pipeline Safety: Better Data and Guidance Could Improve Operators' Responses to Incidents GAO-13-284T (Jan. 28, 2013) [18-page report available here] and Pipeline Safety: Better Data and Guidance Needed to Improve Pipeline Operator Incident Response GAO-13-168 (Jan. 23, 2013) [50-page report available here]. Both reports were issued in furtherance of the Pipeline Safety, Regulatory Certainty, and Job Creation Act of 2011 and "the ability of transmission pipeline operators to respond to a product release."
