Featured Book: 

James Morton Turner, The Promise of Wilderness: American Environmental Politics Since 1964 (2012).  This 576-page text, authored by Turner, an assistant professor of environmental studies at Wellesley College, with a foreword by renown environmentalist William Cronan, discusses the concept and treatment of wilderness on public lands in the fifty years following the passage of the 1964 Wilderness Act. A work of history this text also provides  insight into how wilderness has influenced the broader polical battles being waged today.
